The Peace of Wild Things
The Peace of Wild Things
by Wendell Berry
The Peace of Wild Things, a beloved poem by American poet and essayist Wendell Berry, in limited edition letterpress prints.
This poem by Wendell Berry has been important to millions of readers over the years, myself included. I first encountered it in the late 1990s, when I was in graduate school in Atlanta. The close and healing contact with Nature that I had grown up with seemed very distant in that big bustling city, and so I read this poem (and others by Berry and Mary Oliver) over and over, reminding my soul of the presence and peace of wild things wherever we happen to be, and that beauty and grace can bring rest and refreshment at any hour. May this poem be a reminder of such for you, too, and may it bring that same peace and presence to your heart and mind.
