A collection of 44 new poems by Emily Hancock, illuminated by 5 paintings by Nancy Maxson.

Journey with the poet through seasons of beauty and change as she walks and writes amidst her Blue Ridge Mountain homestead. Each brief poem is a distillation of encounter — care-full language shaped to share both aspect and essence of life among woods, fields, and waters.

Artist Nancy Maxson created 5 original Sumi-ink paintings for the book (which were expertly scanned and digitized by Lana Lambert) — one work of art for the title page and each of the four seasonal groupings of poems.

The book was digitally designed and typeset by Hancock, and commercially printed by Bailey Printing in Charlottesville, Virginia. Hancock letterpress printed the jacket on St Armand handmade paper, and sewed the whole by hand with linen thread. Size is 5.75” x 3.75” with 64 pages.
